Red Stump Teapot

Morning espresso

I took me 3 hours to draw and paint this "quick sketch". I find I'm drawn to subjects with lots of complicated geometric shapes, reflections and lettering which are not good for quick morning sketches.

I got up early this morning to enjoy my flower garden, the variety of birds at my bird feeder and the peace it brings to me. As is typical of New Jersey suburban living, my neighbor had the same idea except he needed to mow his lawn. Oh well.

My sketching tools

I like the paints in this little box. It's portable and the colors are super concentrated and stay moist.

Avocado sketch

Pen and watercolor sketch. I attempted to write with a Pigma Graphic 1 brush pen (too broad and hard to control). Should have practiced first.
